Guadalupe Cruz

March 18, 1948 — August 5, 2020

Guadalupe Cruz (72) went peacefully in her sleep to be with our Lord on August 5, 2020. Born March 18, 1948 in Poteet, Texas to Marcellino Pedro De Jesus Campos and Victoria (Mata) Campos. She is preceded in death by parents Marcellino Pedro De Jesus Campos and Victoria (Mata) Campos of Poteet, Texas, brothers, Manuel, Alberto, Esteban, Marcellino Jr., Campos and sister Elena (Campos) Ramos. She is survived by husband of 50 years, Carlos Reyes Cruz, Sr., sons Carlos Alexander and Angelina (Hinojosa), Michael Daniel, Lee Anthony and Melissa (Lambert), twelve beloved grandchildren, Urcela Nicole, Carlos Alexander Jr., Alexandra Araiza, Antonio Daniel, Angelina Celeste, Jake Marcellino, Madeline Danielle, Lee Anthony, Jr., Emma Victoria, Penelope Rose, Evelyn Marie, Ethan Michael, brothers, Rogerio and Pedro Campos, sister Maria Castillo, and numerous nieces and nephews. Guadalupe was a loving and caring daughter, sister, aunt, wife and mother but her passion and heart belonged to her grandchildren in her role as grandmother “Mo-Mo”. Her true engagement and full dedication was to her grandchildren. There wasn’t a time when she said “no”, but “I’ll see what I can do” or “here is all I have.” She lived and sacrificed for her children and grandchildren and provided in ways that will be forever appreciated and never forgotten. She will be severely missed and certainly not replaced in the hearts of all that knew her. When we think of Guadalupe various loving names come to mind: “Lupe” “Weezy”. Guadalupe had a fierce spirit that will live on in her children and grandchildren.

A Mother’s Love
A mother’s love is irreplaceable and unconditional
Always there to open the door
And welcome you with open arms
Always placing her needs last so that you can soar
She gives her life for love of family
She does what she has to do in the face of all adversity
