Guillermo Pedro Font, aka Bill, son of William Font and Fannie Lajara, was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico on New Year’s Eve in 1932. The youngest of three sons, Bill spent his childhood playing baseball with his brothers and friends, and swimming in the ocean. A proud ClemsonTiger, he obtained his degree in architecture while on ROTC. After graduating, he was stationed in Germany where he was an Air Force captain. During his time there, Bill met the love of his life, Christa Emons, and they married in February 1959. They moved to Puerto Rico, and Bill set off to establish what would become a flourishing and award-winning career as an architect. He and Chris raised three sons and a daughter, providing a home full of love. Every few years, the whole family would return to Germany to be with their relatives, and those holidays were treasured experiences.
In his free time, Bill enjoyed racing cars as well as playing golf, dominoes and poker with his neighbors and friends, including the parish priest. In 1994, he and Chris moved to DeBary, FL, where he eventually retired and further honed his golf game with his brother Joe and neighbors. In 2013, he and Chris moved to San Antonio, TX, and both became active members of the St. Mark’s Parish. In the early hours of November 27, 2021, Bill passed away in his sleep. He is survived by his wife of nearly 63 years, their four children and their families, as well as nieces and nephews.
