Helen F. Sorrells

Helen Sorrells went home to the Lord on June 13, 2010. She peacefully left this earth for her permanent home while surrounded by friends and family. Born Helen Francis Dalia, to James andMillie, on January 23,1923, she was the 7th of 10 children. She was a loving girl with a strong bond for family and even though she was swept off of her feet by a dashing Irish soldier in 1943 and taken to Texas, she always remained a loyal Boston Italian! Helen married John Edward OMeara on Sept 18, 1943, and raised two children, John and Sharyn, in La Marque, TX. Though she is preceded in death by her husband, John, two children, John and Sharyn; she is survived by two brothers Daniel and James; five grandchildren, John, Bill, Shannon, Christy and Shelley; and eleven great-grandchildren who each love her dearly. She would want to be remembered as a loving wife, mother and Nana who served the Lord faithfully throughout her life. She was also an amazing cook and tireless hostess who welcomed the entire neighborhood into her home.

Cemetery:
Burial will take place at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery on Monday June 21, 2009 at 1:00pm.

Rosary services for Helen will be held at: St. Pius X Catholic Church at 3909 Harry Wurzbach San Antonio, Texas 78209 on Monday, June 21 @ 11:30am.
