Hortencia G. Gomez

Hortencia G. Gomez was born February 15, 1925 and went to be with the Lord on January 5, 2015 at the age of 89. She is preceded in death by her husband, Guadalupe G. Gomez; sons, Richard and David; and grandson Richard, Jr. She is survived by her son, Guadalupe (Celia) Gomez, Jr.; daughter, Dolores (Armando) Ortiz; sisters, Margie Moreno and Maggie Gomez; grandchildren, Veronica, Armando, Cristina, Dolores, Daniel, Rosalinda, Anthony, Ilse, Annie, Brenda, Lupe, Tony, and Brandon; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, god-children, extended family and friends. Hortencia was one of the first parishioners of St. James the Apostle Catholic Church; a member of the Guadalupanas, Altar Society, C.O.P.S., a Stephen Minister, Eucharistic Minister, and CCD parent volunteer. Hortencia always had her home open for family and friends to gather, stay and celebrate life. Memories of her will be forever in our hearts. The family wishes to extend their special gratitude to Dolores Prieto, caregiver for the past 8yrs, for her continuous love and care. Also, to Magdalena Padilla who was part of the Senior Christian Companion program; she came faithfully to keep her company for the past 8yrs; and to the Embrace Hospice Team especially, Mindy, Claudia and Fr. Jossh.
