Jack Earl Jones passed from this life Thursday January 28, 2016 at the age of 69. He is survived by his wife Betsy Walker Jones; daughter Kristi and her husband James Burrows; Mother-n-law Euvalda Walker Duncan; his brother-n-law Mitchel Walker and wife Denise; granddaughter Kelsi Barnett, grandsons Joshua Barnett and Alexander Burrows; his sister Sarah Smith; his nephew Thomas Smith, wife Justine and daughter Makayla, nephew Matthew Smith, wife Holly and daughters Hayley and Ellison; nephew Tony Williams and wife Chelsea. He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Earl Jones and Berta Lee Manuel; stepfather Ollie Manuel; father-n-law Mitchel B. Walker; stepfather-n-law Llyod Duncan. Jack was an educator in Willson, Shallowater, La Marque, Lubbock, Northside and San Antonio school districts. He was always willing to teach those willing to learn and gave a helping hand whenever he was asked. He played in the San Antonio Municipal Band, Heart of Texas Concert Band and Shepard of the Hills Church Band. He was a member of the Oasis Choir, Silver Sounds Choir and San Antonio Area Retired Teachers Association Choir. He served in many political positions in Leon Valley throughout his life. He was a successful business owner for many years. He was known for his trumpet playing, sense of humor, storytelling and his ability to create beautiful works of art. Overall, he was involved in many things; one could say he was a “Jack of all trades”.
