James Bradford Currie

September 18, 1925 — September 20, 2009

James Bradford Currie began his wonderful journey though life on September 18, 1925. Lucille and Jim told their young son that there are no limits on achievements. At age 5, he teed off with his dad to open the James Currie Golf Course in Milwaukee. At age 19, he was a young aircraft commander going to WWII. Jim loved flying C-130s and the Air Force gave him the opportunity to defend our country worldwide. In his career, he flew 468 combat missions. Friends loved to hear his many exciting experiences and sometimes moments of terror. His awards and decorations include the DFC for heroism in aerial flight. He loved the Air Force especially the challenges set forth as the USAF Director of Programs. His career ended in 1978 in the rank of Major General. He was married for 32 years to the love of his life, Laura and together they travelled the world playing golf and having fun. They will always have Paris. Fitting of Jims pride in his Scottish heritage, his cousin Bill will play the bagpipes at the memorial service.
