James Dennis, born on June 9, 1951, in San Antonio, Texas, passed away peacefully in his hometown on November 21, 2024. He lived a life marked by love, service, and a passion for the things he cherished.
James proudly served in the United States Army, a testament his dedication and commitment to his country. After his military service, he became a skilled mechanic, demonstrating his knack for tinkering with machines and engines. His love for mechanics was matched only by his enthusiasm for classic cars and riding his cherished Harley.
James had a vibrant personality, often bringing joy to those around him. He was renowned for his culinary skills, particularly as an exceptional BBQ'er. His world-famous chili was a highlight at many gatherings, earning him accolades in various Chili Cookoffs.
He leaves behind a loving family: his wife of over 40 years, Beverly Ann Baker; his sons, Jason and James Dennis; his daughter, Jennifer Dennis; and his brother, David Dennis. James is also survived by his brothers Butch and Carol Dennis, as well as his sister Brenda Dennis.
James's legacy will continue through the fond memories and stories shared by those who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his son Walter Dennis and his father Walter Dennis, as well as his mother, Glenna Owens.
A graveside service to honor James's life and contributions will take place on November 27, 2024, starting at 10:30 AM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, located at 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, Texas, followed by a closing ceremony at 11:30 AM.
James Dennis will be deeply missed, but his spirit lives on in the hearts of his family and friends.
