James Franklin Calvert born in McAllen, Texas on September 21, 1943 died November 3, 2009 in San Antonio. Jim served in the Air Force for 3 years as an Aircraft Controller in Germany. He returned to his parents home in Universal City when he was accepted into the SAPD, there he served for 28 years. After retiring he taught at the Law Enforcement Training Center at SAC. Jim was an avid outdoorsman. He would spend his summers in Alaska; camping, hunting and just watching nature. There he made many friends. He was a licensed pilot, author, photographer and skier. He leaves behind his wife Sharon, daughters Kathryn (Curtis) Huston from Atlanta, GA., Mary Anne Moffett from Universal City, son Sgt.Thomas Moffett USMC from Belle Chasse, LA. Grandchildren: Ben Schaefer (Rachel) from Albuquerque, NM., Brian Huston from Atlanta, GA, Matthew Miller from Universal City, Chase Sullivan and Haylie Moffett from Bell Chase, LA. In Lieu of flowers memorial donations may be sent to Warrior Families Support Center 3138 Rawley Chambers SA, TX 78219.
