James J. Forkenbrock

James Joseph Forkenbrock, born on August 11, 1940 in Dyersville, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, September 16, 2012 in San Antonio, Texas. Jim was the eldest child of the late Bernard and Esther Bergfeld Forkenbrock. Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Carol, of 51 years. Siblings and their spouses: Bob Lois, Fred Mary, David Susie, Mary Ann Dave, and Jerry. Children and their spouses: Michael Shauna, Tom Becky, and Sandy Tim. Grandchildren: Olivia, Zachary, Grace, Chase, Allison and her husband Blake, Samantha, and Sara. Great-Grandchildren: Nolan and Caroline. Jim graduated from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas in 1963. He was a life-long public servant: 42 years as a High School teacher—from Edgewood-Colesburg HS in Iowa to Central Catholic HS in San Antonio. He also served as Mayor of Edgewood, Iowa; Iowa State House Candidate; Past President of the Alumni Association and Board of Trustee member at St. Mary’s University. Jim also volunteered for numerous other organizations.
