James Randall Cowart Jr

James Randell Cowart of Helotes Texas, passed away at home June 8, 2022 at the age of 69.

Randy was born in Irving, TX to Asa and Mary Virginia Cowart on February 11, 1953. He was the youngest of 3 boys. Randy worked as a carpenter for more than 20 years. He loved helping friend build their own home and giving useful tips. He returned to school in the early ‘90’s to follow in his dad’s footsteps and his dream of becoming an Aircraft mechanic. Known as Paw Paw, he spent many years with Southwest Airlines. An avid motorcyclist and classic car enthusiast, Randy was working on restoring a 1982 Bronco which his children will finish as a remembrance.


Randy was reunited with his mother and father, both brothers Richard and Michael. His late wife of 33 years, Kimberly Suzanne, and three infant grandchildren.

Randy leaves behind his four children; Sunshine Selvin (husband Eddie), Tamlin Cowart, Jericho Hunt (husband Kris), and son Casey Shayne Cowart, wife Kimberly Long-Cowart, many grandchildren and a great grandson nephews, nieces, cousins, and many dear longtime friends.

The family will hold Randy’s Celebration of Life on July 16, 2022 at The Country Club in Old Town Helotes From 4 to 7pm. Please join us to remember and celebrate a life well lived
