Jason Lee Garza

November 28, 1983 — February 22, 2025

The day of Saturday February 22, 2025, at the age of 41 Jason Lee Garza went to meet our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. He was born on November 28, 1983, in New Braunfels, Tx. to Carol Cooper and Felix Garza Jr. and was blessed with a beautiful daughter Abigayle Genesis Garza and her mother Lorena Dominguez. Jason was born and raised catholic and a strong believer in Christ and later in life researched and explored other Faiths. Jason worked for many years in the landscaping industry and later grew an interest and began working and learning with Rodolfo Canales and wife Hillary Peldner, his friends and mentors with reptiles and started an exciting new career path working at Reptilawdge LLC.

As a father, Jason was a loving and caring father, always willing to do whatever he needed for his daughter. Having a daughter was everything to him and not a day went by that he didn’t let his daughter know that he loved her and that he was proud. Jason took much pride in his fatherhood and the woman his daughter became. He was a supportive, loving, and protective father, but always made time to tease her lovingly. Something he always said was, “beat it, nerd.”

Jason was a vital family member, always there when anyone needed him, and a father-like figure to his nieces and nephews who he deeply loved. He was a respectable advisor and confident who was always there to lend a listening ear or helping hand, and never hesitated to respond to a call for help no matter what the project. Jason had a rough exterior but those who knew him he was just a big teddy bear always ready to fire up the grill and enjoyed casting a reel with his brothers and sharing his love of fishing with his nieces and nephews, and of course you will never miss him at the river on a hot summer day. Jason never turned down a good time whether it be relaxing by the water, having a drink with friends and family, playing video games or watching a good movie while reciting every line from his favorites. You always knew it was going to be a good time when you saw Jason and heard his big goofy laugh. Family to Jason was not about blood, but about love and loyalty and both of which he did BIG.

He is survived by his beautiful daughter Abigayle Genesis Garza; His loving parents Carol Cooper and Felix Garza Jr. maternal grandmother Virginia Sanchez and paternal grandmother Candelaria Garza; four brother Edward J. Cooper and wife Rene Newbauer-Cooper, Jeremy A. Cooper, Kris Garza, and Felix Garza III; three nephews Zack Amaro, Edward Nevarez, and Sebastian (‘bash’) Cooper; three nieces Serenity Cooper, Maliyah Brown, and Serinah Cooper; one great nephew J Kobi Archie Amaro; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousin, extended family, and friends who loved him deeply.

He is preceded in death by his dad Raul Edward Nevarez; maternal grandfather Nicolas P. Sanchez Sr; grandmother Esmeralda Zavala and grandfather Raul G. Nevarez; and three uncles Nicolas P. Sanchez Jr., Chistopher Nevarez, and Carlos J. Sanchez.

Jason will forever be missed by his family and friends. Though he is always watching over us we must remember and follow Jason’s famous motto, “I do, what I want”.
