Jay Dee Robinson passed away peacefully at his home in Bandera, Texas on Saturday, June 25, 2011 with his family at his side. He was born in Abilene, Texas on May 31, 1954 to Patti Hanner Robinson and Jay Dee Robinson, Sr. He grew up in Liberty, Texas, graduating from high school in 1972. Jays work took him from Texas to Oklahoma and eventually to Utopia, Texas where he worked as a cabinet maker with his stepfather. In 1988 he met Janis Bahlmann of Bandera and they were married on May 6, 1989. In 1993 he went to work in the Maintenance Department of the Bandera Independent School District where he was employed at the time of his death. Jay enjoyed life and being with family and friends. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, riding his motorcycle and most recently being part of the X-Treme Cookers, a competition barbeque team made up of his co-workers. In addition, he and his family enjoyed taking vacations together, which included visits to Disneyworld, snow skiing trips and fishing at the coast. Jay was a dedicated father, always supporting his two daughters in their school and extra-curricular activities. Jay was always ready and eager to lend a hand wherever and whenever needed, whether it was family, friends, or even a perfect stranger. His faithful membership at Calvary Temple Church in Kerrville, Texas provided him with a strong spiritual foundation and a personal relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Jay was preceded in death by his father Jay Dee Robinson, Sr., and sister Joy Sue Robinson. Survivors include his wife, Janis Robinson and daughters Brandi and Hannah of Bandera; his mother, Patti Thrailkail of Utopia, Texas, sister Debbie Killough and husband, Travis of Utopia; son, Jason Robinson and daughter Jennifer Robinson of Oklahoma City and, Leeanna Dee Robinson Lake of Tallahassee, Florida and Tabitha Cunningham and husband, Scott of Beaumont, Texas; all from a previous marriage. Other survivors include nephews Daniel Marshall and wife, Megan, Jack Marshall, Dean Bahlmann, Luke Killough, Bruce Killough, and nieces Jamie Killough and Allana Moreland and husband Rick.

Memorials:
A memorial service will be held at Calvary Temple Church in Kerrville, Texas on Friday, July 1, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to DONATE LIFE AMERICA, 700 North 4th Street, Richmond, VA 23219 or to the Memorial Fund of Calvary Temple Church. Also the family encourages their friends to sign up to be organ donors through their drivers license.
