Jimmy R. Treviño AKA Jimmy Edward was born on March 16, 1951 in San Antonio, Texas to Jimmie and Amparo Trevino. Jimmy Edward went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, February 16,2020. Jimmy was preceded in death by his father Jimmie G. Trevino and his 2 brothers Joe A. Treviño and Arthur Treviño.
On November 21, 1998, he married the love of his life Marycarmen. He was a devoted father to his children: Lesley Lopez (Ruben), Jimmy Treviño (Melissa), JoLee Salazar (Med), Jennifer Villarreal (Joshua), Jana Flores (George), Andrea Vela (Andrew), Ezekiel J. Treviño; brothers Michael Treviño and Arthur Treviño; and sister Patricia Gandara. He was also blessed with 14 grandchildren.
Jimmy began singing professionally at the age of 12 and went on to graduate from Memorial High School in 1969. During his career, Jimmy received numerous awards including vocalist of the year, Lifetime Achievement, and a Grammy Nomination. Jimmy's greatest joy came when he surrendered his life to Jesus. Soon after, with Marycarmen by his side, Jimmy began to travel and minister with Rudy Guerra.
One of Jimmy’s favorite pass times was being home with family and friends. Jimmy loved his church family and was actively involved at Living Way Church. His love for God and others with his infectious smile will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
