John C. Dawkins

John C. Dawkins, born August 5, 1926, passed away on August 28, 2008 at the age of 82. He was born in New Brockton, Alabama to G.R. and Myrtle Dawkins. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Susan Dawkins Brehm. Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Hazel Dawkins; daughter, Deidre Leese and her husband Maynard; son, Gentry Dawkins; three grandsons, Joshua Leese, Christopher and Lee Dawkins; also numerous other relatives and friends. John worked in sales in the transportation industry until his retirement. John was active in many service organizations during his lifetime which included: 20-30 Club, Cosmopolitan Club, S.A. Traffic Transportation Club, and was a lifetime member of S.A. Livestock Show Rodeo.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at The Country Church in Marion, Texas. To those desiring, memorials may be made to The Country Church, 1005 W. F.M. 78, Marion, Texas 78124 or the charity of your choice.

Cemetery:
Cremation will be held privately.
