John “Chip” Frederick Aldrich entered into rest on September 5, 2018 at the Age of 70. He was born in Hawaii to Major E. W. Aldrich and Beverly Nitsch on September 25, 1947. He served in the Navy and was deployed in Vietnam from 1966-1969 where he was a medic and he earned a Purple Heart.
John “Chip” retired from USAA in 2007 after which he spent many mornings on his back porch and weekends hunting in South Texas.
John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Johnny E. Aldrich. He is survived by his son, Tony Aldrich (Christa) and his daughter, Shanon Ripley (Jimmy). Additionally, Chip is survived by four grandchildren, Brianna Nicole Taylor, Matthew Gage Taylor, Aaron Jacob Smith, and Alyssa Grace Aldrich, and 4 great grandchildren. John is also survived by his brother Sandy Aldrich (Connie).
