John “Jack” Kubiak died on January 21,2022 after a long illness.
He was born on August 19,1943 in Erie Pa. to Joseph and Mary Kubiak
.
Following his graduation from Cathedral Preparatory School, Jack enlisted in the Airforce in 1961. He was assigned to intelligence duty and was initially stationed at Syracuse University to study the Russian language. Upon his honorable discharge in 1965, he began his career as an intelligence analyst for the National
Security Agency (NSA) and continued academic studies at the University of Maryland.
Jack served his country as an NSA analyst for over forty years and received official recognition for his meritorious service.
Jack had a wry sense of humor, loved Jazz and popular music and was a wonderful writer and great conversationalist. He was a serious board game player, hardly ever losing a game of Scrabble.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Georgann (Burns) and children Mary Ruth
and James (Laura Howe) and grand children
Ruthie, Georgie, Peter and Ellen . He’s also survived by his two brothers, Thomas
(Karla) and Robert (Barbara) .
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Emma El Sheikh.
