John Roger Ramirez born April 26, 1937 in San Antonio, Texas passed from this life on July 10, 2013 at the age of 76. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Rosie V. Ramirez; son and daughter in law John and Graciela Ramirez; daughter and son in law Sylvia and William L. Greissel; sister Yolanda Rose; grandchildren Bridget Greissel, Andrea & Lamont Roberts, William Greissel IV, Nanette Ramirez, John Ramirez III, and Jacob Ramirez; great grandchildren Louis Rodriguez, Araceli Keammerer, Mariah, Giavonni, Lamoni, Drelin, and Joaquin Herrera ; and 1 great-great grandchild Louis Rodriguez IV. Mr. Ramirez served in the U.S. Navy where he became an accomplished boxer and began his passion for gambling and playing cards. John referred to his wife Rosie, as his yellow rose of Texas, and even named his trucking company after her, Yellow Rose Trucking. Mr. Ramirez enjoyed the open road and long distance traveling; he passed on his love for big rigs by teaching many of his family members to drive 18 wheelers. On many long distance trips, Mr. Ramirez helped out his fellow truckers and other travelers when ever he could by giving money or a ride to next stop. All through life Rosie continued to be his true love, from the moment they met until the day he died, he will be dearly missed.
