John William Chiaffredo

September 8, 1931 — January 25, 2014

John was born in Westville, Illinois to Joseph and Ruth Chiaffredo. The youngest of
two brothers, Joe & Bob and a sister, Rose Mary. John and his wife Pamela were
married July 12, 1982. He is survived by, his wife, Pamela; daughter, Connie; three
grandchildren, Ryan, Emily, and Kyle; sister, Rose Mary Malone; Nephews, Jack Jr., Jeff,
& Mark Malone, Jim & Greg Chiaffredo; and niece, Penny Green. John had numerous
other relatives, with many spiritual brothers, sister, sons, and daughters who will miss
him dearly.
At the tender age of ten, John knew and appreciated his Grand Creator, Jehovah God.
That was when he dedicated his life and symbolized his dedication by water baptism.
As with all Jehovah’s Witnesses, his baptism began his lifelong career as a minister.* In
his youth he and his parents fought a landmark court case that assisted in laying the
ground work for religious freedom in the USA. And for many years he served as a
traveling minister, along with his first wife, Martha. He & Martha were married for 30
years until her death in 1981.
In the late 1960’s John moved to San Antonio and worked for Kentucky Fried
Chicken as Area Manager for many years. He left and went to work for various food
service businesses until going into business for himself. In 1978 he purchased
Commercial Kitchen Repair Company. After he and Pam were married, they enjoyed
working together in the business. One of the high points was the installation of all the
restaurants and equipment at Sea World, in San Antonio. He sold CKRC to Brock
Coleman in 1994. Mr Coleman now operates the business under the name,
Commercial Kitchen, Parts & Service.
He really began to work after retirement. He, along with hundreds of local Jehovah’s
Witnesses donated time & skills to a local building project, the Assembly Hall of
Jehovah’s Witnesses (an educational facility), located at 9750 Eaglecrest, San Antonio.
To quote John, “…this was one of the greatest privileges I have had in all my life.” He
served as committee chairman for the SAAH from 1999 to 2011.
