Johnathan Ryan Thompsen, 24, passed away suddenly in Schertz, TX on January 12, 2024. Born in San
Antonio on August 22, 1999, he graduated from high school in 2017 from Samuel Clemens High School in
Schertz, TX.
A strong Christian, Johnathan attended River City Community Church in Selma, TX.
Johnathan recently worked at EnergyX in Austin, TX. He was preceded in death by his fraternal
grandmother, Judy Brandt. He is survived by his loving father Jeff Thompsen, stepmother Debra
Thompsen, brother Jeffrey Thompsen Jr. and sister-in-law Samantha Rodriguez, stepsister Brittany
Stinson, stepbrothers Tommy Stinson, Shelby Stinson and Zachary Keefer, and biological mother Janet Irish, along with numerous aunts and uncles.
Johnathan was a very talented musician playing on the worship team at River City Community Church
and Grace Bible Church. He enjoyed playing Christian music on his guitar, wherever he could do to
minister to his friends and family, hanging out with friends, playing racquetball, writing poetry and
music, singing at karaoke, doing generous things for people. He was a true image of what a Christian that
loves Jesus looked like. This young man was so in Love with Jesus he engaged in leading people in High
School thru bible studies and worship in front of Samuel Clemens High School in the mornings by the flag
pole with his guitar. He will be remembered for his ability to bring light into a room and his bright spirit
and generous heart. His memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved him, even those he just
briefly met. There was just something in him that made a lasting impression on people it was the
unconditional Love of Christ working thru his life.
