Jose Luis Calderon, a beloved figure known for his jovial spirit and loving nature, passed away on March 2, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 59. Born on May 26, 1965, in Mexico, Jose dedicated his life to the craft of carpentry, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and skilled craftsmanship.
Jose was a family man at heart, described by those who knew him as warm, selfless, and devoutly faithful in his Catholic beliefs. His personality was marked by kindness; he had an innate ability to connect with others, never meeting a stranger, but rather, turning every encounter into the beginning of a friendship. His positive disposition and enduring love for his family and friends have made a lasting impact on all those fortunate enough to know him.
He is survived by his brothers, Lupe, Martin, and Jose Alex, his sisters, Irene, Elvia (Adrian), and Maria. Jose also leaves behind a multitude of nieces and nephews, including Jose, Estella, Loyo, Alejandro, Javier, Jackie, Jennifer, Yesenia, Alejandra, Esmerelda, David, Jose, Marissa, Karina, David, Leo, and Gabriella, each of whom cherished their moments with him and will carry forward his spirit of generosity and joy.
Jose was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Marta and Guadalupe Calderon. He is also survived by his niece Marta, nephew Jair, as well as sisters-in-law Janie and Verna. Their memories of Jose will forever be etched in their hearts, a testament to the love and guidance he imparted throughout his life.
As we remember Jose Luis Calderon, we celebrate a man whose unwavering devotion to family and friends, as well as his craft, will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Viewing and Visitation will be held at Puente & Sons Funeral Chapels, South 3520 South Flores, San Antonio, Texas 78204 from 10:00 - 1:00 with a Rosary at 12:30PM. Proceeding to the Funeral Mass at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church at 1:30PM and a Graveside at Chapel Hill Memorial Park.
