Services for SMSgt. Joseph L. Stelpflug, Sr. (Ret) will be held at Puentes and Sons Funeral home at 14315 Judson Road in San Antonio, Texas on October 6, 2014 He went to be with God on October 1, 2014 surrounded by loved ones following a lengthy illness He was retired after 28 years of service to his country fromg the USAF. He is survived by his wife of 30 years; MeLisa (nee Bartlett) from Lubbock, Tx. He is also survived by his five children. Sons; Joseph L. Stelpflug, Jr. and his wife Angie with their three kids Alexx, Hayden and Haylee of Hot Springs, AK, LCpl Aaron Stelpflug stationed at Okinawa Japan. Daughters; Erica Nieves and her husband SSgt Richard Nieves and two kids, AJ and Alexa stationed at the Pentagon, SSgt Amanda Cosme and her husband TSgt Robert Cosme and their son Kayden, stationed at Dyess AFB, and Brenna Stelpflug and her wife PS3 Nicole Stelpflug stationed at Fort Sam Houston. His mother and father Vincent andLucille Stelpflug and siblings Laurie, Brad, and Maribeth. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
