Joseph Patrick Pagliara

Mounted on the wings of an eagle, retired TSGT Joseph Patrick Pagliara soared into Heaven with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, by his side. Born in Baltimore, Maryland on March 17, 1932 to Lillian Hozaink and Tony Pagliara. He enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard and then the U.S.A.F. where he retired in 1970.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Betty Phipps Pagliara; children, Michael, Marty, Mickey Pagliara, Denise Shockey, Melissa Thomas and husband Randall, Michael Shockey and wife Yulia, Verline Fawler and husband Larry; sisters, Theresa Ignatowski and Mary Moser; 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. The family would like to extend their appreciation for the angels sent by Vitas Healthcare that cared for Joe in his final weeks.


A graveside service will be held Friday, June 5, 2009, Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with honors at 9:30 a.m.
