Joseph William (Gaetano) Innace, 84, passed peacefully into God’s arms on April 21, 2018 with his family at his side.
Joe was born on November 19, 1933 at the Coney Island Hospital, the son of Leopold and Adeline (Pisano) Innace. He lived in Brooklyn from birth till his early adulthood. He served in the US Army in Europe (Salzburg, Austria), 1953-55 receiving the rank of Corporal (T), he trained as an Infantryman and in Small Arms Repair. Professionally, he was a retailer his entire life; his first employments were in Manhattan with Lord and Taylor and Brooks Brothers.
He moved to upstate New York, in the Cobleskill/ Central Bridge/ Middleburg and Schoharie area, where he lived until his marriage to Joy Madden (Beardsley) on June 4, 1981 in Montrose, PA. Joy was a member of the US Army and Joy, Joe and son, Chris moved to San Antonio, TX, and then to Frankfurt, (then) W. Germany, where their daughter Laura, was born. During her career they also lived in Edgewood, MD, and Frederick MD. Retiring from the military in 2000, Joy, Joe and their family made San Antonio, TX their home.
Joe was the consummate family man, a great friend and neighbor and professional employee. He was well respected and admired. His family was his life. His love for his parents, his siblings, and their children was unwavering; but his love and pride for his wife and children was supreme and always his first priority. He will be greatly missed and irreplaceable.
He is survived by is wife Joy, his step-son Chris Beardsley, whom he raised as his own from age 5, his beloved daughter Laura Innace, and his son-in-law Richard Ali. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Farrah and Allina Ali (all of San Antonio, TX) and Tyler Mckiness-Beardsley (Cape Coral, FL). His sister, Diana (Innace) Caroselli (Rock Hill, SC), and several loving nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death are his parents, his brother, Ralph Innace, Sister-in-law, Agnes, his sister, Assunta (Sue) Innace, his brother-in-law, Phil Caroselli, his nephews, Philip Caroselli and Leonard Rosenblatt.
Visitation/Viewing hours will be held from 4-8 P.M., with a Rosary and Memorial service at 6:30, P.M. on Wednesday, 9 May 2018 at the Puente and Sons Funeral Chapel, 14315 Judson Rd, San Antonio, TX 78233.
Funeral Mass Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 16075 N. Evans Rd, Selma, TX 78154. Burial with military honors, follows at 11:30 A.M., at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209
The family wishes to extend our sincere gratitude to the many doctors, nurses, caregivers, home health, clergy, volunteers and others who gave such excellent care and kindness to Joe, not only these last few days and months of his most recent illness, but over the many years. We wish to also thank the wonderful friends and neighbors who have been so faithful over the years. God bless you all.
