Joy Elaine Jackson-Buckley, a kind and welcoming soul passed away on October 18, 2023, in San Antonio, Texas. Born on December 23, 1983, in Corpus Christi, Texas, Joy brought warmth and love into the lives of all those she encountered. Her departure leaves a profound void in the hearts of her loved ones and the community she touched.
A memorial service will be held on October 28, 2023, at the Wilson County Cowboy Fellowship Church located at 100 Hickory Run, La Vernia, Texas. The service will begin at 10:30 AM. It is a time for family and friends to gather and celebrate the beautiful life of Joy Elaine Jackson-Buckley.
Joy's vibrant personality shone through in everything she did. With a heart brimming with compassion and love for others, she truly lived up to her reputation as everybody's aunt. She had an innate ability to make everyone feel seen and loved. Joy's warm smile and kind words had a way of brightening even the cloudiest of days.
In her free time, Joy pursued her passions with great enthusiasm. She had an affinity for Vera Bradley accessories and could often be spotted sporting colorful patterns that reflected her joyful spirit. The outdoors held a special place in her heart; whether it was soaking up the sun on the beach or embarking on adventurous road trips, Joy found solace in nature's embrace. She also had a keen eye for fashion and enjoyed indulging in shopping sprees that brought her much delight.
Joy was deeply devoted to her family and cherished every moment spent with them. She was blessed to share her life with Herman Buckley as her loving husband. Together they created countless memories filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support for one another.
Left to honor Joy's memory are her beloved father, Rickey Jackson, and step-mother Kathy Jackson; her mother, Kerry Hammit, and step-father Roy Hammit. Joy's sisters Jennifer (Tom), Tricia (James) and Tara were not just family but also her closest confidants. The nieces and nephews she adored and doted on include Hailey, Carlie (Preston), Caleb (Destiny), Kali, Kingston, Lafayette, Savanah, and Laramie.
Joy's vibrant spirit has been reunited with her loved ones who passed before her. She joins her grandparents Buddy and Elaine Delosh along with Brown and Gussie Jackson in eternal peace.
With Joy's departure from this world, we mourn the loss of a truly exceptional individual. She leaves behind an indelible mark on the lives of those fortunate enough to have known her. Her warmth, love for others, and contagious laughter will be dearly missed.
Today we celebrate the incredible life of Joy Elaine Jackson-Buckley-a soul whose kindheartedness knew no bounds. Though she may no longer be physically present among us, the impact she made during her time on Earth will continue to inspire and remind us all to live with compassion, love unconditionally, and embrace each day with joy.
