Joyce J. Gebhardt

Joyce J. Gebhardt went home to be with the Lord on October 23, 2018. She preceded in death by her parents Martin and Irene Bauml, son: Frank Gerbhardt, Jr., brothers: Robert, Martin, Jr. and Tommy Baulm, sisters: Marion Tarrillion, Helen Tschoepe and Thelma Lincoln.
She is survived by Frank her loving husband of 63 years, sons: John (Nancy) Gebhardt and Mark Gebhardt, daughters: Betsy (Brad) Bochat and Tina (Jason) Lax, 9 grandchildren and 2 great - grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by numerous other family members and friends.
Joyce attended St. Mary’s Catholic School of San Antonio through high school. She graduated from Incarnate Word College in 1955 with a bachelors’ degree in Home Economics. In 1953, Joyce went on a blind date with a young man named Frank Gebhardt. Little did she know he would become her husband and she would spend the next 63 years happily married to him.
Through the next several decades, in addition to raising her five children, Joyce still found time to contribute to her community. She was a longtime member of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, and an active member of the Catholic Daughters of America, the Sultanas de Bejar, Saint Monica’s Guild, and the Cancer Support group of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church.
Joyce had an innate artistic side that she revealed through
oil painting, sculpting and working with stained glass.More importantly, Joyce lived her life imitating the life of Christ and always put others needs and concerns before her own. She was a true servant of Our Lord.
