We are honoring the life of our Mother, our Grandmother, our Great-grandmother, our Aunt, our Mother In Law and Friend, Juanita V. Guarnelo. Born December 1, 1935, and went to be with our Lord November 12, 2024.
Our Mother was a beautiful person. She was a woman who prioritized her family. She married at the age of 25 to our Dad, Henry Guarnelo Sr. and they had three children. Let’s not forget to mention that she won “The Most Beautiful Bride of the Year Award”. Our Mother expressed her love and kindness always and put her children and husband first. Our Mother’s life story is a journey of belonging to 3 families. But when she made her own family is where she truly found love and acceptance. Therefore, her children and husband were cared for and prioritized throughout our lives.
My Mother completed college education and earned a teaching certificate. She went on to teach in a head start program. She was teacher of the year and continued her love for children by opening up her own day care. She would give her love to children for the next ten years.
Ms. Guarnelo is a grandmother of 10, a great-grandmother of 8. She has many nephews and nieces and made numerous friends throughout her 88 years of her life.
She served as a Dama in the Catholic Church for about 20 years. She sought our Lord always giving her time to Catholic, Baptist, and Christian churches.
Our parents moved to San Antonio in 2011. She enjoyed visiting all the Taquerias, Walmart’s and Market Square.
Our Mother’s hobbies included listening to country music, enjoying the “Gunsmoke Series”, dancing and cooking. She loved life. Her wishes were for everyone to love God the way she always did.
