Judith Carol Clark was called home to Our Lord on the 12th of December, at the age of 82. She was born in Seattle, Washington on May 27th,1941, to Helen and Carl Gleason. Growing up in Richland, Washington, Judy developed an interest in the outdoors, and spent time in the woods and rivers, on the mountains and beaches with her mother and sister, and later with her own family. Her favorite places being Mt. Rainier National Forest, Naches River, and the beaches of Oregon.
While at Eastern Washington University she married her college sweetheart, Chris Christensen, and they had two children, Mike, and Lori. The traveled, lived and visited many places in Europe and the United States during Chris’s service in the Army.
Judy’s career was as varied as the places that they lived. Working in civil service in the school systems, Parks and Recreation Department, Randolph Air Force Base then retired from Brooks AFB School of Aerospace Medicine, Department of Academics in 2001 after 20 years of civil service. During her 15 years at the School of Aerospace Medicine, Judy received many awards and accolades for her dedication and service. She was also a member of the American Business Women’s Association.
Judy loved all people. She was a friendly, bubbly person and always found time to help, whether it was as a Girl Scout Leader, Cub Scout Den Mother, Reading Mentor of grade schoolers, or helping friends and neighbors.
During her many years at Coker Methodist Church Judy volunteered at the Welcome Booth and the Food pantry. She enjoyed meeting new people and being able to help those in need. Because of her friendly and outgoing nature, it was natural for her to help organize the Welcome Booth volunteers, and to make each person feel truly welcome. The Food Pantry was a great place for Judy to use her people skills helping match people with the services they needed at the Food Pantry.
Judy is predeceased by her parents, sister Sally Jo Joseph, first husband Chris and their beloved son, Michael. She is survived by her daughter Lori Jo Christensen and granddaughter Catherine McGinty.
