Judith Marie Reed

Judith Marie Reed, 71, departed this world to be with our Lord on June 7, 2014.

Judy was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to her late parents Alice and Wayne Poole on September 27, 1942. Judy graduated Valedictorian from Little Flower High School and continued her education at UTSA graduating Summa Cum Laude in Criminal Justice. She then furthered her education in law school. Her career was based on 30 years of experience in the legal field.

Being the middle child of nine children, she portrayed a delicate, yet skillfull balance of justice in all aspects of her life. She was a role model to all her family and friends. Her goal was to guide them, and to be a strong example for all that knew her which she did effortlessly. Judy lived life by bringing out the best in everyone she encountered. Being an optimistic realist, Judy always searched for the best in others. Her witty satire, beautiful smile, and easy going approach were the characteristics that defined her.

She was an avid history fan, and on many occasions would surprise relatives and friends with random gifts that would strike a heartfelt chord in their own life. Judy was selfless and only cared for the well-being of everyone else around her. Being a parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church for well over 20 years, she was devoted to the Catholic faith.

Judy is survived by her husband Samuel H. Reed, daughter Theresa Reed Benitez, son in-law Richard Benitez, granddaughter Sophia Marie Benitez, son Samuel Scott Reed, brother Edward (Manon) Poole, sister Mary Agnes (Ray) King, sister Jeanne (Richard) Yoder , brother Harry Poole, brother James (Nancy) Poole , sister Elizabeth Menchaca , sister Lucy (Dennis) Casey, and sister Margaret Poole.
