Kathleen Marie Morones

Kathleen Marie (Cox) Morones passed away on August 6 at the age of 59. Kathleen was born in Inglewood, California to the late Colonel Glenn and Noma Cox.

She was preceded in death by her brother Steven Cox. She is survived by her husband Alejandro, and was a loving and devoted mother to sons James and Matthew. She also is survived by sisters Victoria Ernst and Carolyn Pitcher, brother Jeffrey Cox, their families, and lifelong friends Hilda Rodriguez and Vickie Simmons.

After graduating from college, Kathleen became a teacher and later an administrator and principal in Harlandale ISD, which she always considered her second home. Education was truly her passion, and in her career she was blessed to have many friends and colleagues who helped her achieve personal and professional success.

Additionally, she was extremely proud to serve as a mentor to many, and to celebrate in their accomplishments. She will truly be missed by her family and friends.

On Saturday, August 13, a viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Puente & Sons Funeral Chapel, located at 14315 Judson Road. The service and eulogy will begin at 1:30 p.m.

Kathleen will be buried in a private ceremony.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Harlandale Education Foundation scholarship program, or to the charity of your choice.
