Kim Aramie Gourlay

Gourlay, Kim A. Kim A. Gourlay entered eternal rest on February 18, 2011 in San Antonio, TX. Kim was born February 9, 1956 to the parents of Carl L. and Everjean Wright in Dallas, TX. Kim graduated from Lake Highlands High School. She received a nursing scholarship from the United States Army, attended the University of Oklahoma and graduated from the University of Maryland, (Walter Reed), with a BS in nursing. Kim earned a Masters of Science degree from Texas Women's University and was an Adult Nurse Practitioner and Diabetes Clinical Nurse Specialist. She served in the United States Army for over 20 years as a nurse and retired with the rank of Major at Fort Sam Houston, Kim married H. Scott Gourlay in 1993 and one child was conceived, Gary Howard, who was stillborn. Kim was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, three brothers: Michael D. Wright, of Dallas, TX, Carl L. Wright Jr., of Lacy WA., and Gary P. Wright, of S. Orange, NJ., brother and sister-in-laws, a host of uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and her sincere devoted long time friends. A special thank you to all members of the health care team from her initial diagnosis to hospice care including: food service, receptionists, cna's, nurses, pharmacists, physicians and others who were so kind, caring and comforting to Kim and her husband during her illness. Kim, we will all deeply cherish your memory, courage, strength and miss your love and that smile. A memorial service is pending.
