Larry Cooper Basinger

November 28, 1946 — July 29, 2011

Larry was born to Maxalene and Harlan Basinger in Lubbock, Texas on November 28, 1946 and joined them in Heaven on July 29, 2011, following a lengthy illness. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 35 years, Elizabeth and sons Eric and Tommy, wife Tori and beloved grandson, Joshua who called him Paw-Caw. He also leaves behind two brothers and their wives; Jerry Lee Basinger (Barbara) and Ronald Dale Basinger (Bobbie); as well as numerous other family members and a host of friends. Larry was a graduate of Harlandale High School, and was a veteran of seven years in the Army Reserves. He retired from City Public Service after thirty-three years. Larry was a former member of the Hill County Gypsies and a member and former financial officer of Lakehills American Legion, Post 410. A memorial service celebrating Larry\"s life will be held on Saturday, August 6 at 2:00 pm., at the Lakehills American Legion Post 410 located at 147 26th Street, Lakehills, Texas. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the American Cancer Society , American Lung Association or the American Heart Association or to your favorite charity.
