Lew W. Dement

Lew Wayne Dement went home to be with the Lord on June 9, 2010. Lew was born in Dallas, TX on November 4, 1942. Lew spent his life working in the hospitality industry, including 10 years as the first General Manager of the Tower of the Americas Restaurant; 14 years as General Manager of the Broadway Plaza Hotel; and he owned and operated the Spring Branch Store from 1991-2001. Lew served as Vice Chairman of the San Antonio Visitors Convention Bureau from 1981-1987; Chairman of the North San Antonio Chamber of Commerce Visitors and Tourist Task Force from 1982-1984; and First Vice President, Board of Directors, San Antonio Hotel Motel Association from 1984-1986. Lew was an avid fisherman and enjoyed working in the yard. Lew is survived by his wife of 30 years, Barbara; his children, Stacy, Dan, Jennifer, and Katy; his grandson Aiden; his mother, Margie Loraine Epperson; his brothers, Steve and Pat; and his sister, Vicky. Lew is preceded in death by his father, Nolan Dement; step-father, Phillip Conner; and brother, Nolan Dement, Jr.

Memorials:
Services will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Puente Sons Funeral Home, 14315 Judson Road, with a reception to follow.
