Lionel Jerome Gavia

Lionel Jerome Gavia, 75, passed away on September 29, 2024, in San Antonio. Born on June 17,1949, Lionel was known for his kind demeanor, soft-spoken nature, and sharp wit. He dedicated many years as a civil servant at Kelly Air Force Base, where his commitment and hard work left a lasting impact.

Lionel was a beloved son, father, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was deeply cherished by his mother, Olga Gavia, brother, David Gavia, children, Denise, Keith, Cheryl, and Melissa Gavia, grandchildren, Keith Jr., Lauren, Aurora, and Everly Gavia and great grandchildren Owen and Scarlett Gavia. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Nick Gavia, and brother, Gerard Gavia.

A mass in honor of Lionel will be held at St. Paul Catholic Church located at 350 Sutton Dr, San Antonio, TX 78228 on October 18th at 10 AM. 

His life and legacy will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
