Johnson, Louisa Warfield Brookes, born 1912 in King and Queen County, Virginia, passed into eternal life on January 7, 2010, in San Antonio, TX, age 97. Beloved wife of Dr. Oliver H. Johnson, who predeceased her. Survived by her children, Dr. Oliver Johnson, Jr. (Rene), ), and grandchildren Jordan and Allison Johnson of San Antonio, and Jean Johnson Logan of Miami, FL, and her grandchildren Brooke May (Chet), and great-grandchildren Taelyn and Logan May of Milton, GA. Also survived by four nephews and two nieces and their families. Our steel magnolia was a Virginia lady born and raised, who met and married her Army officer in the days leading up to World War II. They raised a family in the Washington, D.C. area where she was a successful realtor, and traveled on business trips throughout the US and to Australia and New Zealand as Hank developed missile technology for the U.S. Naval Air Systems. Retired to their home on the Intracoastal Waterway in Wilmington, N.C. to watch the sunrise over the ocean and enjoy the bountiful crabs and fish caught from their dock. Louisa traveled to China twice, and visited friends and family throughout the south after her husband passed on in 1984. She moved to San Antonio in 2003 to live near her son and his family at Independence Village. Burial will be in West Point, Virginia at a later date.
