Louise Marie Yoder Lloyd
1917 - 2008
Beloved mother, grandmother and aunt, Louise Marie Yoder Lloyd passed away on November 14, 2008 at her home in New Braunfels, Texas at the age of 91.
Born April 2, 1917 in Toledo, Ohio to Rolland Christopher Yoder and Lillian Alberta Emery Yoder, Louise was the youngest of four siblings. She was exceptionally bright and received her early education in San Antonio and the South Texas area, graduating from San Benito High School at the age of 15. Throughout her life she continued to be an avid learner who enjoyed word puzzles, books, and music.
Married Scott Cowart on July 2, 1939 and had one son, Christopher Scott. Following Scotts death in 1946, she married Earl Lloyd in 1949 with whom she had another son, Eric Dean. Earls military career opened up a world of adventure and travel opportunities for Louise and her family. She visited and lived in many areas of the United States and in retirement traveled abroad, including a visit to her favorite destination, New Zealand.
Louise had a zest for life that inspired many. She developed a love for the water at an early age which continued throughout her life. Most recently she treasured her daily swim in the Comal River with close friends, especially those from Texas Tubes.
Survivors include her two sons Christopher Scott Lloyd (wife Linda) Salt Lake City, Utah, and Eric Dean Lloyd (wife Sandra) Merritt Island, Florida, special niece Janie Macredie New Braunfels, Texas, 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her spouses, parents, brothers Sidney and Fred, and sister Lyndall.
At her request, Louise will be cremated with her ashes to be scattered by her immediate family over beautiful Padre Island.
