Lydia Alcoser

We are heartbroken to announce that our beloved sister, aunt, cousin, and friend passed from this life
on June 4, 2022 at the young age of 55.

Lydia was the youngest of six children born to Matilde and Elena Alcoser on December 8, 1966 in San
Antonio, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Matilde and Elena; sisters, Aurora Navarro,
Elena Santos, and Norma Gonzalez; and nephews, Anthony, Abelardo (Lalo), and Alex Hernandez.
She is survived by her sister, Irma Cruz (Thomas); brother, Ray Alcoser; life companion, Alex Garcia; and
numerous nieces, nephews, other family, and a host of friends.

Lydia made a career as a manufacturing technician at Sony and, ultimately, at Tower Jazz of Texas. She
was a hardworking and dedicated worker until health issues forced her into early retirement. Lydia had
a special place in her heart for her nieces and nephews, especially the younger ones. There was nothing
she would not do for anyone in need, even if it meant giving you her last dollar. She was the “crazy
sister and auntie” who loved to make you laugh and have fun. She loved going to the beach and
enjoyed fishing, she enjoyed dancing and listening to music. She was also known as the “cat lady”. Her
cats were her children so her home quickly became a refuge for every stray cat in the neighborhood.
They somehow always knew she’d have food and shelter for anyone in need. At some point, she even
protected a family of skunks who took refuge under her sidewalk.

Her fun-loving spirit and sense of humor will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
