Lydia Esquivel De Leon

Lydia Esquivel De Leon, age 70, passed from this life on July 24, 2020. Lydia was born on February 18, 1950, in Robstown, Texas to Frank Esquivel Sr. and Natividad Martinez. Lydia is preceded in death by her father, Frank Esquivel Sr.; her son, Anastacio De Leon; and her granddaughter, Angel De Leon. Lydia is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Israel M. De Leon; her sons, Israel E. De Leon (Daniel Rodriguez) and Eric De Leon (Holly Boyette); her daughter Frances De Leon Shamburger (Johnny Shamburger); her grandchildren, Joshua M. Shamburger, Sara T. Shamburger, Isaiah Jaquez, Joseph Shamburger, Kaiden Massiate =, and Jacob Ian De Leon; her mother, Natividad Esquivel; and her siblings, Mario Esquivel Sr., Margarita Mesa (Raul Mesa Sr.) Carlos Esquivel (Rosa Ena Esquivel) Mary Lou Reyna (Felix Reyna Sr.) and Frank Esquivel Jr. (Oralia "Lali" Esquivel).

Lydia was a pillar of strength, a second mother to all her nieces and nephews, a matriarch for the Esquivel Family, and a friend to everyone. She was also known for her love of baking cakes of all sizes, especially for her wedding cakes with her homemade pineapple filling. She had many other hobbies, but her most favorite is spending time with her family and cheering her family on in all of their events.

Due to Covid-19 the family has requested that only immediate family members attend the services. All others are encouraged to share memories and condolences online.
