IN LOVING MEMORY OF DR. MARCELLIUS I IHEKWUABA ANUNOBI
Sept 4th 1960-June 30th 2021
Marcellius Ihekwuaba Anunobi age 60, passed on to glory on June 30th 2021 his wife by his side at University Hospital San Antonio, Texas following a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.
A resident of San Antonio since 1998, Marcel was born on September 4th 1960 in Amannachi, Orsu local government area of Imo State Nigeria to Late Amaeze and Geraldine Anunobi.
Upon graduation from high school in Nigeria and following a short stint with teaching he immigrated to the United States of America in 1983 in pursuit of greener pastures.
He graduated from Alabama A/M University in 1987 with a BSC in Zoology. He proceeded to study pharmacy at the Howard University, Washington DC from where he graduated in 1991.
He worked in different pharmacy operations including hospital, retail and mail order pharmacy over the course of his career.
His love for education and quest for knowledge prompted him to further his education. He attended Spartan Health Sciences University in St. Lucia, the Caribbean Islands from where he obtained an MD degree in 1996.
In San Antonio, he formed a great network of friends most of whom know him for his outstanding generosity and love for humanity. Marcel’s signature laughter which comes from deep within his soul endeared him to many. He loves humanity and does not hesitate to jump in where he can whenever he’s called upon to do so if it pertains to helping others.
At home, he was the rock on which a home with a solid foundation was built. He was all about giving the best that life could offer to his family. His vibrant personality ensured there was never a dull moment when he was around. He walked into a room and it immediately came alive. He loved to counsel the young and guide them about career choices that could lead them to a brighter future. The void which his exit from this earth has created is huge and the home will never be the same again without him.
We love you but God called you home where you’ll know no more pain or suffering.
He is survived by his wife Endaline, 4 daughters -Crystal, Ezinne (Zinny), Onyi and Chichi and a son Chigozie, 4 brothers, 2 sisters, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents Amaeze and Geraldine Anunobi, his brothers Fidelis, Boniface, Sunday and Donatus and his sister Regina.
Join the family to bid him farewell and share your stories of remembrance on Saturday, August 7th, 2021 at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, 10703 Wurzbach Road, San Antonio Texas.
