Maretta Ann Hoffner

February 15, 1948 — December 13, 2013

Maretta Ann Hoffner "Ann", age 65, of San Antonio, TX, passed away on December 13, 2013, after a short battle with cancer.

Ann was born in Cadillac, MI on February 15, 1948 to Gertrude Eleanor (Miller) Paddock and Chester Bernard Paddock. In 1950 the family moved to Muskegon, MI where Ann graduated from Reeths-Puffer High School in 1966. After graduation she moved to Long Beach, CA with her mother and 2 brothers. She married David Allan Hoffner in California. After his death and her retirement from Universal Studios, she moved to Texas.

She is survived by her 2 sons Michael Sean Hoffner of Sherman Oaks, CA, and James Benjamin Hoffner of San Antonio, TX, brother Max (Pamelia) Paddock of Abilene, TX, aunt Florence Majerle of Cadillac, MI, cousin Rita Majerle-Klug of Milwaukee, WI, grandchildren, Nicholas Atticus Hoffner & Ryann Alexandra Hoffner, both of Sherman Oaks, CA, 2 nephews Christopher (Misty) Paddock of Amarillo, TX, & Jason Paddock of Los Angeles, CA, and daughter-in-law Cathy Lynn (McNeley) Hoffner. Survivors also include close friends Barbara Reeves and Joanne Hawes Stoe. Ann was preceded in death by her husband David Allan Hoffner, brother Michael Raymond Paddock, and her parents Gertrude Eleanor (Miller) Paddock and Chester Bernard Paddock.

Ann will be especially remembered for her lively sense of humor, her remarkably creative home improvement abilities, love of cats, and dedication to her sons. In the most recent years she enjoyed spending much of her time with James and Cathy along with her dear friend, Joanne.

Puente & Sons Funeral Chapels will handle the final arrangements. In accordance with her wishes, no formal service will be held. A private memorial gathering will be planned for close friends and family at the home of James & Cathy Hoffner at a later date.

Thank you to Dr. Jayasree Rao and her wonderful staff for their kind support and personal attention during Ann’s illness. A heartfelt thanks to the loving and caring staff at Odyssey Hospice San Antonio who guided and helped us all during Ann’s last days.
