Margie was a former Concord, CA resident, who grew up in Pittsburg, CA. Born August 3, 1940 in Martinez, CA to Dale and Jean Moore who preceded her in death. She was an only child who grew up in a close-nit family of loving parents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. After surviving a second brain tumor surgery in 1959, she was left tri-paligic and wheelchair bound. With a strong sense of determination, Margie went on to marry and had two children.
Margie was a graduate of Pacifica High School in Pittsburg; class of 1959. She was a Soprano in the Pacifica High Glee Club and excelled in School. Margie loved music and enjoyed a good dance. She was always very proud of having been a member of the Concord Assembly of the Order of Rainbow for Girls during her teen years as well.
Margie was an Activist for persons with disabilities. For several years while residing in Orosi, CA, Margie was a 4-H Club leader and a “hands on” parent when it came to her daughter’s activities. During her thirty-six year residency in Concord; charity work and volunteer service were a big part of Margie’s life.
Margie was full of life, loved a good joke, and was a social butterfly. She loved camping in the Sierra’s and trips to the Ocean. She had interests in art, culture, and genealogy, just to name a few. Margie was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church. Due to health issues Margie retired to San Antonio ,TX one year ago, where she passed away on December 7, 2014 at the age of 74.
Margie is survived by daughters, Denise (Morse) Moore of San Antonio TX, and Janine (Morse) Bolton of Escalon CA, four grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at CPC Church 200 E Leland Rd Pittsburg.
