Maria Castillo

Maria Castillo, 72, peacefully departed this life on March 6, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas. Born in December 1952, in Laredo, Texas, Maria was a fighter who loved deeply and cherished her family.

Maria is survived by her sons Adrian (Graciela) Castillo, Abdiel (Adriana) Castillo, and Jose Alberto Ayala. Her legacy extends to her loving daughters, Adriana (David) Ramos, Melissa (Jaime Jr.) Bustos, Marissa (Leopoldo) Guadarrama. Maria’s cherished grandchildren are Adrian Jr., Jose Fernando, Areli, Kaytlan, Abdiel Jr., Miranda, Brooklyn, Daniel, Reagan, Jaime III, Joel, Juliet, Janis, and Jude.

She is also survived by her siblings Estella (Zaragoza) Garcia, Elida Gomez, Juan Jose (Yolanda) Castillo and many other family members and friends, each of whom hold fond memories of their time with her.

Preceding her in death are her parents Jose and Ricarda Castillo; brothers Jose Heriberto Castillo, Felix Castillo, Oscar Castillo, Hector Castillo and sisters San Juana Garcia and Ester Tovar.

Maria's life was filled with joy from her many hobbies, including her love for dancing and music. She found immense pleasure in playing loteria, indulging in exciting gossip, and was known as a movie lover among family and friends. Her grandchildren were the pride and joy of her life; she loved and cherished each one deeply.

Maria leaves behind a rich tapestry of love, laughter, and memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be remembered not only for her spirited personality but for the unconditional love and affection she bestowed upon family and friends throughout her life.

A Visitation service will be held at Puente & Sons Funeral Chapels, South on 3520 South Flores, San Antonio, Texas 78204 on Saturday, March 15, 2025 starting at 2:00 PM to conclude at 6:00 PM, with a Rosary Service at 5:00 PM.
