Maria Pura Peña

Maria Pura Pea was born on May 12, 1919 in Spofford, TX. She was called home by the Lord on April 7, 2009 in San Antonio, TX. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She continued to enjoy life providing love, guidance and support to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved God above all and deeply touched everyone she met with her smile, gentle laugh and deep faith. She always had a sincere prayer for everyone close to her. Maria was preceded in death by her husband Antonio Pea. They were married 63 years and lived in Brackettville, TX for many of those years. She is survived by her three children: Leticia Cardenas, of Del Rio, TX, Ruben R. Pea and Elma Andrade of San Antonio, TX, ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and various nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. The Pea family would like to thank everyone for the prayers, constant support, and kind words. They would like to particularly thank the staff at Bethany Hospice of San Antonio and extend a personal thank you to Leonard Leos, RN for the special care he gave our mother during the past year. Her amazing strength and spirit during her illness will always be uplifting to us all.

Service:
A mass will be held at Saint Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Brackettville, Texas, on April 13th, 2009 with viewing and service from 11 AM to 1 PM followed by interment at Saint Mary Magdalene Cemetery.
