Maria Rivera

Maria del Carmen Rivera went to be with the Lord on July 22, 2015 at the age of 67. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rodolfo Rivera Sr. She is survived by her sons: Eric, Jose, and Rodolfo (Brook) Rivera Jr.; siblings: Felipe (Guadalupe), Oscar (Veronica), and Pedro (Delma) Coronel; Urbana (Manuel) Garcia, Diana (Osvaldo) Soliz, and Yolanda (Ed) Clay; grandchildren: Gavin, Naaman, Amelia, Kyra, and Kelsie Rivera .

Maria loved crafting and spent many hours crocheting and sewing. Her grandchildren were her joy in life; she loved to delight them with stories of her childhood. Family was of the utmost importance to her; she and her sisters spent hours laughing and talking about their lives. Maria loved and knew Jesus, holding onto her hope until her last moments on earth. She was surrounded by her family in her home when she left this world to rejoin her husband.


Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2015, 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM. A chapel service will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2015, 12:30 PM at Puente and Sons Funeral Chapels, 14315 Judson Rd. Interment will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
