Maria Luisa Salinas

September 14, 1951 — March 22, 2025

Maria Luisa Salinas, a beloved member of her family and community, passed away on March 22, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas. Born on September 14, 1951, in Hidalgo, Texas, Maria exemplified a life marked by dedication, warmth, and resilience.

Maria's professional journey was deeply intertwined with her family's legacy. She worked at the family-owned business, Ray Automotive, in Highland Park, where her commitment and hard work set a strong example for those around her. Her professional career expanded as she joined Joskes, where she received numerous Customer Service Awards and became a distinguished member of the Joskes Achievers Club for her performance. Maria's talent for sales led her to work at Foley's Department Store and later at Macy's in their Perfume Department, where she earned the prestigious Top Sales recognition for several years in Men's Fragrances before her retirement in 2017.

Maria was often described as a person with a spine of steel-a loving and caring individual who never met a stranger. Her warm spirit brought joy to those who knew her, and she enjoyed the respect of all those she encountered.

She is survived by her devoted brother, Juan V. Salinas (Dawn); her loving sister, Martha Alicia Salinas Ortegon; and her cherished nephews, Aaron Salinas, Manuel Ortegon Jr., and Reynaldo Jose Salinas. Maria also leaves behind her great-nephew, Gian Carlo Salinas, and her great-niece, Jozlyn Tatina Vasquez Salinas, who will remember her fondly.

Maria is preceded in death by her loving parents, Pablo and Martha Salinas; and her brother, Reynaldo Salinas. Though they have passed, Maria's legacy and the love she cultivated throughout her life will continue to shine through her family and friends for years to come. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.
