Maria Magdalena Vaquerano, a beloved matriarch, passed away on January 21, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 94 due to complications from Alzheimer's disease. Born on August 17, 1930, in El Salvador, Maria lived a long and blessed life, characterized by her unwavering love and giving spirit.

Maria was a beacon of joy, always laughing throughout the day and sharing her warmth with those around her. She immigrated to the United States during the civil war, embarking on a journey that would lead her to become a pillar of strength and nurturing for her family. Her passion for cooking was not just about preparing meals; it was an expression of her love and affection, bringing family and friends together around the table where so many cherished memories were made.

She is survived by her devoted children: Gladys Umaña, Justa Emelia Umaña, Paula Benigna Umaña, Cruz Alberto Umaña, Ana Gloria Umaña, Sonia Amabel Umaña, Santos Arcenio Umaña, Wilfredo Umaña, Mary Ancheta, Edna Morales, and Jose Umaña. Maria's legacy continues through her grandchildren, Israel Morales and Joshua Morales, and her great-grandchildren, Catalina Morales, Marcos Morales, and Delilah Morales along with other numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren.

Maria was predeceased by her father, Toribio Vaquerano; her mother, Ignacia Candelaria Lopez De Vaquerano; and three beloved children, Sylvia Umaña, Juan Pablo Umaña, and Rina Bell Umaña. The family she leaves behind carries with them the indelible mark of her love and the lessons she imparted throughout her lifetime.

The community is invited to celebrate Maria's incredible life at a visitation on February 15, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, at Puente & Sons Funeral Chapels - Northeast, located at 14315 Judson Road, San Antonio, Texas 78233.

Maria Magdalena Vaquerano will be remembered for her endless kindness, her laughter, and the love she shared so freely with her family and friends, a love that will resonate through the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

María Magdalena Vaquerano, una matriarca muy querida, falleció el 21 de enero de 2025 en San Antonio, Texas, a la edad de 94 años debido a complicaciones de la enfermedad de Alzheimer. Nacida el 17 de agosto de 1930 en El Salvador, María vivió una vida larga y bendecida, caracterizada por su amor inquebrantable y su espíritu generoso.

María era un faro de alegría, siempre reía durante todo el día y compartía su calidez con quienes la rodeaban.
