Marilyn Pearce Graham

December 11, 1946 — December 15, 2024

Marilyn Pearce Graham, born on December 11, 1946, in West Palm Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2024, at Abode Contemplative Care for the Dying in San Antonio, Texas, after a brief stay at Brookdale Memory Care. She was 78 years old.

Marilyn is survived by her devoted wife of 26 years, Sheila Korte; her sister, Patty Smith (John); and her daughters: Shelli Graham, Kandise Howman (Jeff), Dixie Ricker, Kim Mullenix (Jesse), and daughter-in-law Lucy Graham. She was a proud grandmother to Kirstie Gross (Chase), Brandi Shelnutt (Jeremy), Colin Howman, and Edward Myers. Her great-grandchildren brought her immense joy: Maya Schlegel (Jonah), Tiana Groves, Eleanor Shelnutt, Beatrice Shelnutt, Phoenix Gross, Evie Gross, Remington Gross, Josephine Gross, and Brandon Myers.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son Kevin Graham; her parents Helen and James Pearce; her sister Jacquelyn Droge; and her granddaughter Amber Odell.

Having been a Nurse Case Manager for much of her nursing career, at both Brook Army Medical Center and KCI Technologies, was never just a job for her. She took great pride in her ability to help her clients. However, her function as the neighborhood go to nurse for fixing scrapes and scratches was the part of her life for which she was most proud.

She and her wife, Sheila, did a great deal of traveling and were also quite social. They belonged to Alamo Business Council, the premier organization for professional folks, and they loved live theater, for which they had numerous yearly memberships. Their annual trip to Santa Fe, NM with friends for the Opera was probably one of Marilyn’s favorites. There was also a special group of Church friends, with whom they took turns designing wonderful outings, like Glamping, Putter Golf, Painting, Escape Room, Museums, Meow Wolf, Plays, Concerts and most of all, a wonderful and lasting friendship. Her friends at The Heather Condominiums will remember her for having fun parties and lively conversation. Her Book Club will remember all the wonderful and lively conversations about books and friendship and fun.

Marilyn’s life was defined by the love she shared with her family and friends and the cherished memories they created together. Her legacy lives on through the generations she nurtured and inspired. Marilyn will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

May her memory bring comfort to those who loved her.
