Marla Gale Timberlake was born June 9, 1938 and entered into eternal rest on July 20, 2019 at the age of 81. Marla is survived by her son, Michael Love of Pearsall, Texas; her grandson Justin Love of Kyle, Texas; and Timothy and Debbie Moore and their daughter, Robin of San Antonio, along with a multitude of precious lifelong friends.
Marla fought a hard, five-year battle with breast cancer. She was blessed with some amazing health care professionals in this journey. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Rohit Kapoor, Oncologist and his staff and to Ms. Beverly Fulbright, breast cancer nurse navigator at Northeast Methodist Hospital. These individuals went above and beyond their professional calling to provide superb medical care for Marla during this difficult time.
Marla had a zest for life. She lived an active, full life. She loved being in the water; whether it be floating down the river with her friends in Bandera, boating on the Gulf of Mexico or enjoying a cool refreshing beverage in her very own kiddie pool in her back yard!
Marla loved animals; she once found a baby javelina hog and turned it into a domestic pet, she loves mules, and she leaves behind two dogs and seven cats.
Marla was definitely a TOMBOY. She could rope and ride and she could drive anything with a steering wheel or a set of reins. She rode in the rodeo trail ride, she barrel raced and enjoyed horseback as a leisure sport.
Marla began her career in the trucking industry in her late 20's. She once hauled cattle out of the Union Stockyards in downtown San Antonio.
In her most recent years, she was employed with TriMac Services where she worked as a dispatcher for Aviation fuel drivers. The family would like to offer their gratitude to Mr. Tommy McCloud, Joe Regalado and Vickie Salas for supporting Marla in her ability to remain an active member of the company over the past year. Marla took great pride in her career; she loved her coworkers and her boss.
Marla will be greatly missed but through Christ, we have the promise of reuniting in eternity one day.
When asked what her last wishes were, Marla simply replied "Feed my drivers". THUS, everyone is invited to a luncheon hosted by the family immediately following this service.
