Martiriano Carmen Cortez passed away on April 3, 2012, at the age of 63. He was born in Afton, TX on July 16, 1948. He is preceded in death by two grandchildren: Spencer Madelyn. Mr. Cortez is survived by his loving wife of 29 wonderful years, Kathy Cortez. He is also survived by his parents: M.C. Mary Cortez; sons: Marty Cortez (Carol) and Bobby Cortez; daughters: Pam Cortez (Gus Gonzalez), Jenni Rock (Kevin) and Cassi Cortez (Matt Diaz); brothers: Joe Cortez (Pam) and John Cortez (Rita); sisters: Mercy Amaro (Jim), Libby Cortez (Sonny), Gloria Gonzalez (Ted), Katy Chavez (David), Sylvia Rodriguez (Pete) and Cynthia Brown (Andy); grandchildren: Samantha, Sebastian, Jager, Elyas, Hailey, Julianna; great-grandchildren: Annabella Austin; and numerous family and friends who will love and miss Martin dearly. Martin contributed 45 years working at USAA. Mr. Cortez proudly served his country from 1968-1971 and served two tours of duty in Viet Nam.
Cemetery:
Burial will take place immediatly following Mass at Mission Burial Park North.
A visitation will take place on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 from 2:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M., with a Rosary at 7:00 P.M. at Puente Sons Funeral Chapels - NE.
On Wednesday, April 11, we will be departing in procession by 9:30 A.M. for Holy Spirit Catholic Church located at, 8134 Blanco Rd., San Antonio, TX 78216.
