Marvin James “Jimmy” Haag, born October 16, 1954 in Uvalde, Texas, has gone to be with the loving Lord at the age of 63. Jimmy passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 10, 2018. Jimmy was preceded in death by his father and mother, Marvin and Alma Haag and his brother, Oren “Bradley” Haag. Jimmy is survived by his wife of 40 years, Terri Schulz Haag, and five sons, James Haag (Amanda), Bryan Haag (Kimberly), John Haag, Marc Haag, and Scott Haag. He leaves behind his siblings, William “Bill” Haag and Sandra Williams and nieces, nephews, and cousins. Jimmy will be missed dearly by his precious grandchildren, Daemyan, Jacquelyn, Aaralynn, James “JJ”, Hailey, Chloe, Landon, and Kiley.
Jimmy graduated from Holmes High School in 1973 and received a Bachelor’s Degree from Southwest Texas University in 1977 in Criminal Justice. Jimmy completed the University of Texas Police academy and worked as a police officer for UTHSC for several years. Jimmy moved into the construction industry where he became a construction superintendent for several custom home builders and was the co-owner of Haag Homes. In more recent years Jimmy has worked as Maintenance supervisor for several apartment complexes for Orion Properties.
Jimmy loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. Jimmy was a hard worker and demonstrated an impeccable work ethic. Jimmy had a strong belief in God and that God had a plan for him. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 15 at 10:00 am at the University United Methodist Church at 5084 De Zavala Road. A light lunch will be served immediately after at the church.
