Mary Christine “Chris” (Fenwick) Kamenzind went to live forever with her Lord Jesus on December 15, 2012. Chris was born in Leaday, Texas to Eddie and Carrie Fenwick on February 23, 1937. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, June Betancourt of Sacramento, California; as well as her brothers, Wally Fenwick of Ballinger, Texas and Michael Fenwick of Stephenville, Texas. Chris is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 11 years, Jerry Kamenzind of San Antonio, Texas, who has poured his love over her through his tender care throughout their marriage. She is also survived by her son, Bob Alston and his wife Lora, of McKinney, Texas; her daughter, Sandy Fleming of Austin, Texas; her grandson, Zachary Alston and his wife Melissa of McKinney, Texas; her great-granddaughter, Mary; granddaughter, Jessica Alston, and her fiancé Jaimie Kee of McKinney, Texas; her great grandson, Jacob; Grandson Dylon Fleming and granddaughter, Britney Fleming, both of Austin, Texas; extended family, Carl and Jackie Kamenzind of Seatle, Washington; Maydell and Kelly Lewis of Kerrville; Heather and Eddie Savell of San Antonio; Justin Kamenzind, and John Kamenzind, both of San Antonio. Special recognition to her two grandchildren, Clayton Johnson and Mindy Breslin, both of McKinney, Texas; and their children. She loved each one of you dearly. Also surviving her is her brother, Darrell Fenwick of Ballinger, Texas; and her sisters, Barbara Garrett of Eastland, Texas; Paula Sue Fenwick of Stephenville; father-in-law, Max Kamenzind of Schulenburg, Texas; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Fenwick of Las Vegas, Nevada, Dee Hancock of San Angelo and Maxine Kirk; brother-in-laws, Eddie Betancourt of Sacramento, California; Robert Kamenzind of Austin, Texas; as well as her cherished family members, Mary Darilek Nieto-Reyes, Sharon Steed, Judith Leather, and baby Lily Marie Peters, who brought a ray of sunshine to each visit. Chris had many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews who have always held a special place in her heart. She was filled with so much joy during a surprise visit this past June by her nephew Bruce Betancourt of Sacramento, California. She rallied back for four weeks following that special 4 days she had to spend with him. She cherished every moment of it -we all cherished every moment of it. Special thanks to Bruce, Joanne, and Skylar Betancourt for all the love and energy you brought to her and that you continue to bring to the rest of us, always. With memories of her smile so bright and her green eyes forever glowing. She will be deeply missed. The family extends a very special thanks to Seasons Hospice Palliative Care; Dr. Vicki Sparks, chaplain, Aquanetta Hicks, nurses Lori Gentis and Georgette Robbins. For social worker and friend of the family, Melissa DeLaGarza.
